AV manufacturers and vendors participating in the InfoCommAsia China Road Show were encouraged by the strong interest they received from visitors in Dalian, Chengdu and Guangzhou during the week, 7~11 April 2008. In addition to the enthusiastic questions the visitors had on the AV systems on display, the group of 10 exhibiting companies were also pleasantly surprised by the broad spectrum of industries represented by the visitors.

A total of 746 visitors attended the one-day event in each city, coming from both the public sectors such as The University of Sichuan Province and the Quality Control & Inspection Unit of Zhuhai City as well as private enterprises including the Dalian Coca Cola Beverages Co. Ltd and China Life – Guangzhou Branch. The largest number of visitors was recorded in Guangzhou. A preliminary survey among the exhibitors indicated that the Chinese businesses, from Dalian to Guangzhou, were ready to embrace technology in their business operations.

“The leads were very impressive. We met new industry professionals during the Road Show, and they showed great interests in our industry-leading products,” said Philip Hay, Regional Sales Manager of projectiondesign, a Norwegian manufacturer of high performance projectors. Chris Yang of AMX, a leading manufacturer of control and automation system said, “We had many enquiries in all three cities about our products. We will be exploring business opportunities further with them.”

Other companies, which participated in the Road Show, included Jupiter Systems, Lighthouse Technologies, Cayin Technology, Draper, Smart Technologies, Beijing Boruilianchuang Science and Technology Development, Belden and Abtus Singapore.

Besides educating the market on AV technology applications and installation, exhibitors also took the opportunity to extend a personal invitation to the visitors to attend their presentation at the Pan Asian InfoComm Asia 2008, which will be held in Hong Kong, 19-21 November 2008.

The attendees commented that the products and technologies on display by the exhibitors at the Road Show were very professional, and are all of high quality. Many of the trade professionals said that they would visit InfoComm Asia 2008 as they expect to discover more innovative products there.

The InfoCommAsia series of Road Show takes exhibitors through key Asian cities for a first-hand look at emerging markets. Exhibitors had participated in India (Mumbai, New Delhi and Bangalore) in December last year-2007, and will continue after China to Southeast Asian cities including Ho Chi Minh City, Jakarta, Singapore and Bangkok from 21~30 July 2008, Australia (Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney) from 25~29 August 2008 and finally, Northeast Asia (Korea, Japan and Taiwan) from 22~26 September 2008.

InfoComm Asia is a part of the international InfoComm brand of trade shows held in Asia, USA and Europe (under the Integrated Systems branding). More than 350 AV companies from 21 countries will be exhibiting at InfoComm Asia 2008 in Hong Kong, which is expected to draw some 12,000 visitors and delegates this November, making it the most significant gathering of AV professionals in Asia.
